Tunis, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- Libya today strongly condemned the Houthi group’s continued targeting of civilian and economic facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the wake of recent attacks on the international airports of Abha and King Khalid, which resulted in casualties among citizens and residents.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government of National Unity expressed Libya’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for the measures it is taking to protect its territory, safeguard the safety of its citizens and residents, and preserve its national assets.
The ministry reiterated Libya’s rejection of all forms of violence and the targeting of civilian infrastructure, emphasizing that endangering civilian lives constitutes a violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and represents an escalation that threatens the security of the Kingdom and the region. It also reaffirmed its support for international efforts aimed at de-escalation, achieving calm, and enhancing security and stability in the region. (End) S.B.M. / M.A.K.
