Gaza, August 10 (KUNA) – A Palestinian woman was killed and several others were injured today, Thursday, as a result of an Israeli artillery strike that targeted a house in northern Gaza Strip, coinciding with gunfire directed at displaced persons. Health authorities said in a press statement that one martyr and several casualties were recorded following an Israeli artillery strike on a house behind the Olympic Stadium in northern Gaza Strip. They added that shelling in the southern part of the Strip also resulted in injuries to several Palestinians after an Israeli convoy was targeted near Street 5 north of Khan Younis city. Eyewitnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that occupation forces opened heavy fire east of Gaza City, around the Sanafur intersection east of the Tefah neighborhood, and east of Jabalia Camp in the northern Strip, aiming at shelter centers in two schools, homes of displaced persons, and their tents. These witnesses noted that gunfire concentrated east of Hamad City in northern Khan Younis and in the south and east of the city, with intense fire from Israeli occupation tanks and armored vehicles. The previous night, the occupation army carried out massive explosions northeast of the southern governorates of the Gaza Strip, the sound of which was heard from great distances.
