Manama, Oct 7 (KUNA) – Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Industry, Shamlan Al-Jahdali, stressed today the importance of supporting the competitiveness of Kuwaiti industry and opening new markets for national products, thereby enhancing their presence in Gulf markets and reflecting the advanced manufacturing capabilities and potential of Kuwaiti factories.

This came in a statement by Al-Jahdali to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of his participation in the “Made in the Gulf” forum and exhibition held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 6 to 8. The event featured the participation of 14 Kuwaiti factories in the accompanying exhibition.

Al-Jahdali said that the participation of Kuwaiti factories in such events represents an opportunity to highlight the quality of national products and showcase the industrial capabilities of Kuwait. He emphasized the importance of continuing to support the industrial sector and opening broader avenues for national factories to access Gulf markets and enhance their competitiveness.

He added that listening to presentations by representatives of Kuwaiti factories and reviewing their products reflects the diversity of the industrial sector and its ability to deliver high-quality products across various fields. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnerships among the industrial sectors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to serve Gulf industrial development.

The forum honored three Kuwaiti factories among the distinguished Gulf factories: Equate Petrochemical Company, Kuwait Insulating Materials Company (KIMCO), and Kuwait Foods Company (Americana), in recognition of their contributions and role in supporting and developing the industrial sector.

Al-Jahdali expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its excellent hospitality and outstanding organization of the forum and exhibition. He commended the efforts made to ensure the success of this event, which brings together representatives of the industrial sector in GCC countries and provides a platform for communication, exchange of expertise, and enhancement of industrial cooperation opportunities.

He reaffirmed the Public Authority for Industry’s commitment to continuing its support for national factories and enabling them to strengthen their regional presence, thereby contributing to the development of Kuwaiti industry, enhancing its competitiveness, and supporting the process of industrial integration among GCC countries.
