Manama, October 7 (KUNA) — The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and deep outrage on Wednesday over the two heinous terrorist attacks that targeted Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on October 6 and 7, resulting in casualties and injuries among citizens and residents, as well as material damage to facilities.

In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that targeting airports and civilian infrastructure, and endangering the lives of innocent travelers and workers, constitutes a criminal act and a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, representing a serious escalation that threatens the security, stability, and safety of civil aviation in the region.

The Kingdom of Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity and steadfast support for the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its backing of all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability and protect its citizens and residents. It emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of the security of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council framework.

The ministry expressed sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Morocco, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of the Sudan, and to the families of the victims, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on them and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
