Pakistan Army chief discusses regional and international developments with UN Secretary-General

Islamabad, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- Pakistani Defense Minister General Asim Munir held talks today with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on developments in the regional security situation and issues of international peace and security. The Pakistani military said in a statement that the meeting took place at the General Headquarters of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi and addressed issues of mutual interest, including regional stability, the Kashmir file, India’s suspension of operations under the Indus Waters Treaty, and terrorism. Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to international peace and praised the UN’s role in promoting peace, stability, and humanitarian cooperation. Guterres commended Pakistan’s efforts in the war on terrorism and its contributions to UN peacekeeping missions, and appreciated its work in supporting international peace and security and striving to resolve regional disputes through peaceful means.
