India and Oman Discuss Bilateral Relations within Strategic Consultations

New Delhi, Oct 7 (KUNA) -- India and Oman today discussed various aspects of their bilateral relations during the 15th meeting of the India-Oman Strategic Consultations Group, held in New Delhi. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the two sides reviewed all dimensions of their bilateral ties and existing initiatives, including political and strategic cooperation, as well as trade and investment. Discussions also covered the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between India and Oman, and cooperation in the fields of energy, defense, maritime security, digital affairs, education, culture, and people-to-people relations. The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, including regional security, maritime security, and developments related to the Strait of Hormuz. The statement highlighted the growth of the strategic partnership between the two countries in recent years, reaffirming their commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors. The meeting was co-chaired by Sripriya Ranganathan of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthi, Oman’s Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
