Bahraini Minister of Industry Emphasizes Necessity of Unifying Efforts to Protect Gulf Economic Interests

Manama, October 7 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah Al-Fakhro emphasized the need to enhance coordination, unify efforts, and boost the capacity to protect Gulf economic interests, ensuring the sustainability of supply chains and the flow of goods and services amid rapid regional and international changes. Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported on Wednesday that these remarks were made during Minister Al-Fakhro’s chairmanship of the 15th Consultative Meeting of the Ministers of Commerce and Industry of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the heads of Gulf federations and chambers, held concurrently with the meetings of the GCC ministerial committees in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Al-Fakhro stated that the current phase necessitates a shift from coordination to economic integration by strengthening joint Gulf investments, expanding commercial and industrial projects, facilitating the movement of capital, goods, and services, and removing obstacles that hinder intra-GCC trade growth. He expressed his hope that the meeting would yield practical recommendations and shared visions that contribute to advancing cooperation among member states and strengthening public-private partnerships, thereby supporting development and prosperity in the region’s countries and peoples.
