Foreign Minister meets his Slovak counterpart on the occasion of his official visit to the country

Kuwait City, 7 Oct (KUNA) — Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met today, Wednesday, with Juraj Blanar, Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, on the occasion of his official visit to Kuwait and the accompanying delegation. The Foreign Ministry said in a press statement that the meeting discussed the strong bilateral ties between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them in the interest of their shared objectives.
The statement quoted Sheikh Jaraah Al-Sabah as welcoming Slovakia’s decision to reopen its embassy in Kuwait, emphasizing the importance of this step in strengthening Kuwait-Slovakia relations and opening broader horizons for cooperation and joint coordination between the two friendly nations. He noted that the two sides also discussed regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and enhancing security and stability.
The meeting witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of political consultations between the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. (End) N.M.A. / A.M.H.
