Kuwait City, 7 October (KUNA) — Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bashar Abdullah, held talks with Sharif Al-Tikriti, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in the presence of representatives from the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, to explore ways to enhance the role of youth in sustainable development and the importance of upgrading youth centers.

In a press release, the Authority stated that the two sides discussed the significance of youth centers as primary incubators for youth potential, playing a pivotal role in serving young people across educational, cultural, sports, and social fields. Both parties emphasized the need to develop these centers into attractive environments that provide youth with opportunities for learning, innovation, and skills development, in line with the national development plan.

They also stressed the importance of involving the private sector in supporting youth centers through corporate social responsibility programs and by sponsoring initiatives and activities that promote youth participation in society. Furthermore, they noted that cooperation between the public and private sectors constitutes a fundamental pillar for ensuring the sustainability of these centers and expanding their services.
