Kuwait City, 7 October (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and the Direct Investment Promotion Authority (DIPA) today, Wednesday, hosted the International Business Partners Forum under the theme “Direct Procurement and Sustainable Supply for the Kuwaiti Oil Sector,” at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, with participation from a number of local and international companies and commercial entities related to the oil sector.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), KPC said that organizing the forum is part of its efforts to enhance direct and transparent communication with business partners and investors, to introduce regulatory requirements, and to explain registration, qualification, and engagement procedures with KPC and its subsidiaries. The forum also aimed to showcase available investment opportunities in Kuwait and in the oil sector.
KPC emphasized that the forum reflects its commitment to enhancing transparency and streamlining direct contracting procedures with local and international suppliers, in light of recent amendments to the law establishing KPC under Law No. 67 of 2026. It clarified that these amendments aim to broaden the competitive base and provide qualified suppliers from around the world with the opportunity to participate on a fair and transparent basis, ensuring that the Kuwaiti oil sector obtains the best materials, products, and services in accordance with the highest international standards.
It added that KPC operates within a supportive legislative and regulatory environment for investment, and welcomes the participation of the private sector and foreign investors whose capabilities and expertise align with the needs of the oil sector.
DIPA outlined its ongoing efforts to enhance Kuwait’s standing as an attractive investment destination by facilitating investors’ market entry and supporting the establishment of their businesses through the Integrated Investor Services Center (the “One-Stop Shop”). It noted that the authority provides support at all stages of the investment journey, including post-investment services, thereby enhancing the sustainability and growth of projects and their contribution to the development of the national economy.
The statement said that the forum featured presentations on the direct procurement and supply system in the oil sector, qualification and registration requirements, and available opportunities for direct investment and cooperation with oil sector companies, reflecting Kuwait’s orientation toward strengthening strategic partnerships that support economic development and align with the aspirations of the Kuwaiti oil sector.
