Kuwait City, Oct 6 (KUNA) – Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaee today Tuesday congratulated the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), its management, and all its staff on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

In a statement to KUNA, Al-Tabtabaee emphasized that this milestone represents a significant national and media landmark, recalling half a century of professional work that has contributed to consolidating Kuwait’s media presence and conveying its news and positions to various parts of the world.

He noted that over five decades, KUNA has solidified its status as one of the most prominent pillars of national media, fulfilling its mission with professionalism and credibility by keeping pace with events and developments, documenting key moments in the history of the State of Kuwait, and highlighting its achievements and national stances, thereby establishing itself as a reliable source of information and a media window reflecting Kuwait’s image and standing.

Al-Tabtabaee added that KUNA’s presence and standing in the media landscape are the result of the efforts of successive generations of its employees, who contributed their expertise and experience in building a firmly rooted national media institution. He commended the ongoing efforts of current agency staff to continue developing journalistic and news operations and to keep pace with the rapid changes in the media sector, particularly in the context of digital transformation and the proliferation of news and information platforms.

He stressed that national media bears a great responsibility in enhancing public awareness, highlighting the state’s and its institutions’ achievements, and conveying the true image of Kuwait and its progress across various fields. He emphasized the importance of national media institutions continuing to invest in human resources and modern technologies to enhance their ability to reach audiences efficiently while maintaining the professional standards and credibility that form the foundation of sound media work.

He expressed his pride on this occasion, which embodies the continuity of a venerable national institution that has contributed to serving Kuwait and its media for 50 years. He wished KUNA, its management, and its staff continued success and progress, and urged them to sustain their efforts to enhance the standing and presence of Kuwaiti media regionally and internationally, and to serve national causes under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect him), the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (may God protect him), and under the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah (may God protect him).
