European Union: Ready to Send Election Observation Mission for Upcoming Palestinian Legislative Elections

Brussels, Nov 6 (KUNA) -- The European Union announced on Tuesday its readiness to dispatch an election observation mission for the Palestinian legislative elections scheduled for November 28 next year. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said in a post on the X platform that she discussed the matter during a phone call with Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh, adding that Palestinians have the right to choose their representatives through credible, inclusive, and transparent elections. She noted that these elections, coming nearly 20 years after the last parliamentary vote, offer a long-awaited opportunity to renew the legitimacy of Palestinian institutions.
