By Muneera Al-Rabia. Kuwait, 6 Oct (KUNA) — Dr. Abdullah Al-Tariji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Scout Association, said on Tuesday that strengthening partnerships with educational and community institutions opens new horizons for developing scouting work and enhancing its resources, thereby contributing to the sustainability of its programs and reinforcing its role in preparing youth and consolidating volunteerism values in society.

Al-Tariji, in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the conclusion of the “Scouting Movement: Between Volunteering and Economic Activity” conference, which saw the participation of about 250 scouting leaders representing 36 countries, noted that cooperation between scouting institutions and various sectors of society helps expand the scope of programs and activities, exchange expertise, and provide greater opportunities for youth to develop their capabilities.

He clarified that the conference opened a dialogue among scouting leaders on ways to develop institutions and enhance their resources, and to benefit from successful experiences, emphasizing the importance of translating proposed ideas into practical projects and initiatives that boost the efficiency of scouting work and meet the aspirations of youth.

He pointed out that aligning scouting programs with community needs enhances their impact and gives youth a broader space for initiative, responsibility, and experience acquisition. He stressed the importance of developing programs in line with youth interests and honing their skills in leadership, planning, and initiative.

Al-Tariji praised the patronage of Minister of Education Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabatabai for the conference and his support for the scouting movement, expressing his appreciation to cooperating entities, participating delegations, and organizing committees for their efforts in enriching the conference sessions and ensuring the success of its proceedings.

The “Scouting Movement: Between Volunteering and Economic Activity” conference launched last Sunday under the patronage of the Minister of Education, and was organized by the Kuwait Scout Association in cooperation with the Arab Scouts Parliamentarians Union and the Arab Scouts Union.
