Washington, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Tuesday denied the accuracy of Iranian media reports claiming that a U.S. Navy helicopter crashed in the Red Sea last night. In a statement, CENTCOM said, “Iranian state media are promoting false reports alleging that a U.S. Navy MH-60R helicopter crashed in the Red Sea, following their announcement of an emergency last night.” It affirmed that “reports of a U.S. Navy helicopter crash in the Red Sea are incorrect.” It also stressed that “all U.S. aircraft and military personnel in the Middle East region are safe and in their assigned positions.” (End) R.S.R./N.S.A.
