Acting Undersecretary of (Affairs) Participates in Meeting of Undersecretaries of Social Affairs and Development Ministries in GCC States

Kuwait City, Oct 6 (KUNA) – Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Faisal Al-Kandari, represented Kuwait today at the 12th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Ministries of Social Affairs and Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held via video conferencing.

In a press release, the ministry stated that the meeting discussed several shared GCC social files, most notably the quality of life for the elderly, issues concerning persons with disabilities, children’s rights, women’s empowerment, and social protection, alongside follow-up on the GCC Action Plan for 2026–2030.

It added that the meeting also explored enhancing cooperation and coordination among GCC member states and exchanging expertise in social fields, as well as reviewing a number of initiatives and proposals aimed at developing the social care system and supporting beneficiary groups, in preparation for their approval by the Ministers of Social Affairs and Development at their upcoming meeting scheduled for Thursday in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.

According to the statement, Al-Kandari reaffirmed Kuwait’s support for joint GCC efforts and its commitment to continuing coordination to contribute to the development of social services and enhance the quality of life for citizens of GCC member states. (End) F.R. / N.W.
