Kuwait City, Kuwait, 6 June (KUNA) — The president of the Kuwait Teachers Association, Hamad Al-Houli, affirmed today that empowering teachers, enhancing their status, and providing them with professional development opportunities constitute the foundation for improving education and building generations capable of creativity and contributing to the development process.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the conclusion of the 46th Educational Conference, titled “Innovative Visions for a Sustainable Educational Future in Kuwait,” Al-Houli said that the high patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him, embodies the country’s commitment to education and its appreciation of the teacher’s mission, providing educational institutions with the impetus to continue their efforts to develop and elevate the quality of education.

He commended the attendance of Minister of Education Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabatabai, representing the conference’s patron, and the presence of Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Al-Budaiwi at the opening of the conference, noting that this participation reflects the importance of consolidating national efforts to support education, exchange expertise, and develop educational practices.

He clarified that the conference, which launched last Sunday and concluded its proceedings today, provided a platform for dialogue among specialists, academics, and practitioners on curriculum development, teacher preparation, keeping pace with digital transformation, and leveraging modern technologies to serve the educational process.

He added that the value of such meetings lies in benefiting from the proposed visions and ideas and transforming them into practices that contribute to improving the school environment, developing teachers’ skills, and meeting learners’ needs. He emphasized the association’s commitment to continuing its cooperation with the Ministry of Education to serve the educational field.

He pointed out that honoring educational staff represents a message of gratitude and appreciation for their contributions and their role in building human capital, instilling values, and fostering knowledge. He noted that celebrating their excellence enhances motivation, encourages initiative and creativity, and reinforces the teacher’s status in society.

Al-Houli expressed his gratitude to the participants, organizing committees, and all those who contributed to the success of the conference, reaffirming the association’s continued role in supporting male and female teachers and championing initiatives that contribute to educational development and strengthen its national mission.

The annual educational conference, organized by the Kuwait Teachers Association, serves as a forum for exchanging expertise and visions among educators and specialists, and for discussing educational issues and ways to improve them. Its successive editions have addressed topics related to teachers, curricula, and the requirements for advancing the educational process. (End) M.A.R. / A.M.H.
