Muslim World League condemns Houthi targeting of Saudi civilians, cities, and ships in the Red Sea

Riyadh, 5 October (KUNA) -- The Muslim World League today strongly condemned the continued criminal aggression of the Houthi terrorist militia against civilians and civilian targets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as its repeated targeting of Islamic holy sites and the most sacred places, including Mecca, Medina, the capital Riyadh, and several other Saudi cities. The militia also targeted Saudi ships in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

In a statement, the League’s General Secretariat said that Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and President of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of the World, reiterated his condemnation of these terrorist attacks, which violate all religious values, international laws, and humanitarian norms, and underscore the criminal nature of this terrorist militia and its rejection of all efforts toward a comprehensive political and peaceful settlement that would restore order through constitutional means, which the Houthi militia has overthrown.

Al-Issa, on behalf of the League’s assemblies, bodies, and its global councils, as well as the Islamic peoples under its umbrella, expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the measures it is taking to deter the aggressors, safeguard its security, preserve its assets, and protect the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.

He also affirmed the League’s support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in fulfilling its duties of neighborhood and brotherhood toward the Yemeni people and its legitimate leadership, in a manner that contributes to restoring stability to the Yemeni state and its constitutional institutions, extending its sovereignty over its entire territory, and defeating this criminal faction that has overthrown Yemeni legitimacy, thereby bringing death and destruction upon Yemen and its people.
