GCC Secretary-General Meets Yemeni Foreign Minister to Discuss Latest Developments in Yemen

Riyadh, 5 October (KUNA) -- The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem al-Bedaiwi, held talks today, Monday, with Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Afrah al-Zoubi on the latest developments and evolving situations in the Republic of Yemen amid current conditions and the rapid changes sweeping the region. The GCC Secretariat said in a statement that these discussions took place during a telephone call between al-Bedaiwi and Dr. al-Zoubi. It added that al-Bedaiwi reaffirmed the GCC’s firm and steadfast position in supporting the Republic of Yemen and backing all efforts aimed at preserving its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as supporting initiatives directed at achieving security, peace, and stability in a manner that meets the Yemeni people’s aspirations for a future characterized by security, decent living conditions, development, and prosperity. He reiterated that the security and stability of the Republic of Yemen are of fundamental importance to the security and stability of the GCC member states and the wider region, emphasizing the GCC’s continued commitment to standing by the Republic of Yemen and its fraternal people, and supporting all efforts that ensure security, stability, peace, decent living conditions, and prosperity.
