Kuwait City, May 10 (KUNA) — Education Minister Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtaba’i said on Monday that a teacher’s role extends beyond transmitting knowledge to building character, shaping awareness, instilling values, awakening ambition, and honing future leaders.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, Minister Al-Tabtaba’i noted that in a world where knowledge accelerates and artificial intelligence technologies advance, the teacher retains an irreplaceable human role. Teachers believe in their students’ capabilities, guide their thinking, strengthen their self-confidence, and instill in them a sense of belonging and responsibility.

He congratulated teachers on this occasion, saying, “I convey to you my deepest appreciation and pride, and I honor in you a noble mission that has had and will continue to have the greatest impact on building human beings and advancing nations.”

He added that this day “is not merely an occasion to celebrate teachers, but a moment of gratitude and appreciation for those who have made their knowledge and dedication a mission, who view each student as a trust, and who see every success achieved by their students as an extension of their own impact and mission.”

He emphasized that a teacher’s impact is not measured solely by what they provide within the classroom, but by what remains in their students’ lives years later and in every achievement they accomplish for their country. “From this conviction, we place teacher empowerment and development at the core of the education development journey, viewing teachers as genuine partners in driving change and building Kuwait’s future.”

He continued, “On this cherished occasion, I call on Kuwaiti male and female teachers to continue their dedication with resolve and sincerity, and to keep their love for Kuwait and sense of belonging to it as motivation for further giving and achievement. Let them be guided by the wisdom of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect him), His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (may God protect him), and His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister (may God protect him), under the support and attention that our political leadership continues to afford education and human development.”

The Education Minister expressed his gratitude “to every teacher,” acknowledging their contributions, saying, “Thank you for every positive influence you sow in our children’s hearts, for every mind you enlighten, for every ambition you awaken, and for every generation you help prepare to carry the trust of this nation.”

He added that “Kuwait deserves the best from all of us, and your mission will remain a cornerstone of its progress, your impact present in its generations, and your dedication extending into its future. May God protect Kuwait, its leadership, and its people, and may He enable us all to serve and elevate it. May Kuwaiti teachers, both male and female, continue to be a source of pride and honor every year.” (End) M.A.R./T.A.B.
