Bahrain: Support for Gulf initiatives to develop the judiciary

Manama, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa reaffirmed today, Sunday, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for initiatives and efforts aimed at developing and enhancing the efficiency of the judicial and legal systems in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in line with the aspirations of the GCC heads of state. This came during his meeting with the ministers of justice from GCC countries participating in the 36th meeting of GCC ministers of justice. The ministers conveyed greetings from the GCC heads of state to Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation and integration among the justice ministries of GCC countries, updating legislation and litigation mechanisms to keep pace with developments, and contributing to the protection of rights and the facilitation of procedures. He noted that the development of the Gulf judicial system is based on a historical legacy, accumulated expertise, and the support of GCC heads of state in consolidating the rule of law and institutional governance. He expressed his wishes for the success of the meeting of justice ministers and for it to yield effective decisions and outcomes that strengthen joint Gulf efforts. The ministers expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its excellent hospitality and preparations for hosting the meeting, wishing it continued progress and prosperity.
