Kuwait participates in the 36th meeting of GCC Justice Ministers in Manama

Manama, Oct 4 (KUNA) – Kuwait participated in the 36th meeting of the Ministers of Justice of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held today in Manama, with a delegation headed by Minister of Justice and Advisor Nasser Al-Samait. The discussions focused on ways to enhance cooperation among the justice ministries of GCC member states, as well as on various shared topics and initiatives aimed at developing the judicial and legal framework, strengthening coordination, and exchanging expertise among member countries.

The discussions centered on the initiative by Bahrain’s Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs and Endowments regarding the establishment of an electronic platform for exchanging judicial notices and notifications, as well as the work of the committee of directors and heads of judicial and legal training centers and institutes in GCC countries. The ministers also reviewed the draft unified rules for combating information technology crimes in the GCC countries, and the report of the meetings of the committee of officials in charge of international cooperation and international relations departments at the justice ministries of member states for 2026.

Kuwait’s participation in the meeting comes in line with its commitment to enhancing judicial and legal cooperation and integration within the Gulf region, supporting the progress of joint Gulf efforts, and developing their mechanisms to serve the GCC countries and their peoples. The Kuwaiti delegation, headed by the Minister of Justice, included Deputy Minister of Justice Awatef Al-Sand and several other ministry officials. (End) K.N.A./F.S.
