Education Minister orders investigation into incident of high school students fainting to uncover details

Kuwait City, 4 Oct (KUNA) — Education Minister Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei ordered on Sunday the referral of an incident involving the asphyxiation of several female students at one of the girls’ secondary schools for investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding it. He affirmed that all cases are stable and that the competent authorities are monitoring the students’ health conditions on a continuous basis, in coordination with relevant entities, and are taking the necessary measures.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Education said that Minister Al-Tabtabaei personally followed up on the students’ health conditions and directed the relevant departments within the ministry to monitor their status, ensure their safety, and coordinate with concerned parties to address the incident and take appropriate actions. The ministry emphasized that the safety of students and teaching and administrative staff is among its top priorities, reiterating its continued monitoring of the students’ health conditions and developments related to the incident, and its commitment to providing everything necessary to ensure their safety.
It clarified that the minister ordered the immediate referral of the incident for investigation to determine its causes, circumstances, and all related details, identify responsibilities, and take suitable measures based on the investigation’s findings. The ministry stressed that it would not tolerate any behavior or action that could compromise the security and safety of the school environment or endanger students and staff, noting that student safety is a fundamental responsibility and that any violation of regulations and bylaws would be met with firm action.
The ministry confirmed that the behavioral regulations and related bylaws would be applied against anyone found responsible for violations linked to the incident, in accordance with the investigation’s results, ensuring that any conduct outside established rules and controls is handled firmly and responsibly. It reaffirmed its continued monitoring of the students’ health conditions and its commitment to uncovering all details of the incident until all procedures are completed and necessary decisions are made based on the investigation’s findings, thereby enhancing the provision of a safe and stable educational environment for all learners and those working in the educational field.
