Aden, Oct 3 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Saturday the execution of 257 precise strike operations against military sites, movements, and capabilities belonging to the Houthi militias across several fronts, with a focus on Ta’izz Governorate, which has witnessed the fiercest clashes with the Houthi militia for weeks.
In a statement, Brigadier General Majid Al-Nazili, the official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said the operations were carried out using combat aircraft, drones, artillery, missiles, and rocket launchers, and covered Sana’a, Hajjah, Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda’, and Lahij governorates.
Al-Nazili added that the strikes targeted command and control centers, troop concentrations and mobilizations, combat reserves, weapons and ammunition depots, and military supply lines and means. He clarified that preliminary field assessments indicate the neutralization of no fewer than 700 militia members, the destruction of strategic and high-value military targets, and the elimination of 170 combat vehicles and equipment.
In Ta’izz Governorate, the media center of the Yemeni Armed Forces reported that the armed forces, backed by popular resistance and combat aircraft, achieved field advances in the Sam’a front over the past hours, capturing the Sam’a fortress and surrounding areas after clashes with Houthi militias.
The source added that the forces repelled a large-scale offensive launched by the militias on Han Mountain and other sites on the western front of Ta’izz city, under heavy artillery cover, forcing the attackers to retreat after suffering casualties, injuries, and captures.
He noted that the Yemeni Armed Forces are engaged in fierce battles on the fronts of the Al-Shamaytain, Al-Ma’afir, and Jabal Habashi directorates, while continuing to pursue militia elements in Sam’a and repelling attacks at various sites and fronts. (End) S.N.S./F.A.S.
