Kuwait City, 3 Oct (KUNA) – The acting director of the Meteorology Department, Derrar Al-Ali, said on Saturday that the country is currently experiencing humid weather with a chance of scattered light showers, occasionally thunderstorms, and the possibility of fog forming in the evening. This weather pattern is expected to persist until Sunday morning.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali explained that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is being affected by an extension of a humid low-pressure system, coinciding with a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers. This combination is leading to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds, accompanied by scattered light showers that may occasionally be thunderous.
He added that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, with a chance of fog forming in the evening and early morning, reducing visibility to less than 1,000 meters in some areas until Sunday morning.
Al-Ali forecast that visibility will gradually improve during the early morning hours, and he urged citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin through the department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
