Aden, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Friday that they carried out 474 airstrikes and precision targeting operations against the sites, movements, reinforcements, and military capabilities of the Houthi militia over the past 24 hours.
In a statement, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, the official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, said the operations were conducted by air, drones, artillery, missiles, and rocket launchers, covering various combat fronts from the south (Haraz) in Hajjah governorate and the western coast, through the fronts of Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda', Lahj, Sanaa, and Katif (Saada), with intense focus on the Taiz front, which has witnessed the fiercest ongoing battles for weeks.
Al-Nazili added that the operations targeted threat sources, gatherings, reinforcements, command and control centers, and military capabilities of the militias, in accordance with approved operational tasks and plans. He clarified that the operations neutralized 1,540 militia members, killed and wounded, most of them on the Taiz front, and destroyed or damaged 216 military vehicles and capabilities, while foiling the militias' attempts to achieve a field breakthrough in the governorate's fronts.
Earlier, the Yemeni Armed Forces warned civilians, drivers, and civilian transport operators against using 19 main, secondary, and dirt roads used by the Houthi militia to reinforce their forces and move their personnel and equipment toward Taiz governorate until further notice.
In a press interview, Al-Nazili stated that the prohibited routes start from the Sanaa-Dhamar-Aden-Al-Qa'idah-Al-Hoban-Jolat Al-Qasr line and extend to branching and dirt roads leading to various fronts and rural areas of the governorate. The prohibited routes include axes connecting areas such as Al-Hoban, Al-Rahidah, Haifan, Al-Qabita, Al-Muqatira, Shara'b, Al-Barah, Al-Mukha, Al-Wazia, Mawza', Sam'a, and other areas linked to combat fronts.
He called on citizens to avoid approaching Houthi militia movements, gatherings, and machinery, and to follow official bulletins to identify safe routes, emphasizing that the measures are precautionary and temporary, and that civilian safety is a priority.
Earlier, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the execution of 13 precise airstrikes targeting militia personnel, reinforcements, and military vehicles in areas including Al-Rada', Al-Aqroud, Bani Bakari, Al-Kadha, Jabal Nu'man, Al-Ajram, and Al-Miram in Taiz governorate. The airstrikes resulted in the destruction of a tank, several vehicles, and military crews, and neutralized several militia members, killed and wounded.
On the humanitarian front, medical and security sources reported that a child was killed and another child and his mother were injured due to a Houthi shelling that targeted a home in Wadi Aman, west of Taiz city. The sources also reported that six civilians, including two children and a woman, were injured by artillery shelling launched by the Houthi militia on residential neighborhoods in central Taiz, which targeted the Old Airport and Wadi Al-Qadi areas, causing damage to several homes.
