Islamabad, February 10 (KUNA) — Pakistan strongly condemned on Friday the attack carried out by Houthi militias on an electricity distribution station in Medina, Saudi Arabia. In a statement, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “This condemned attack targeting the civilian infrastructure supplying electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque constitutes a serious provocation and a source of deep concern and pain for millions of Muslims worldwide.” The ministry emphasized the necessity of respecting the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of worshippers and pilgrims under all circumstances, reiterating calls for an immediate and unconditional halt to such reckless acts, which also pose a serious threat to regional peace and security. It further stated that “Pakistan reaffirms its firm solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and expresses its full support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security.” It stressed standing firmly alongside the Kingdom in its efforts to protect the Two Holy Mosques, safeguard its people, and ensure the security of pilgrims, affirming that Pakistan has consistently and will continue to make every effort to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region. Earlier, on Thursday, the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen announced that “a terrorist attack occurred on Tuesday morning targeting the Taybah electricity distribution station in Medina,” noting that the findings of investigations and forensic analysis by competent authorities confirmed “the involvement of Houthi militias in planning and executing this cowardly terrorist act, based on operational review and remnants of the drone used.” (End) S.B.K / R.J
