Algiers, 2 Feb (KUNA) -- Algeria expressed its strong condemnation on Friday of the attack targeting an electricity distribution station in Medina, a civilian facility that provides essential services to the city’s residents and to the Prophet’s Mosque. In a statement by its Foreign Ministry, Algeria reaffirmed its full solidarity and unwavering support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of these repeated attacks that threaten its security, stability, and sovereignty. It stressed that targeting civilian facilities and vital infrastructure constitutes a violation of international law, and that the attack on Medina further provokes the sentiments of Muslims worldwide. Algeria also called for an immediate halt to these attacks, urging the primacy of responsibility and respect for the rules of international law to prevent further escalation and safeguard the security and stability of the region’s countries and peoples.
