Cairo, Oct 2 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), expressing appreciation for its developmental role in supporting Africa’s development efforts and financing infrastructure, agriculture, value chain projects, and private sector capacity building.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Friday that this came during a meeting held by Minister Abdelatty with BADEA President Abdullah Al-Musaybih on the sidelines of the Egypt-hosted “Alexandria Forum for Development.”

The statement clarified that Abdelatty expressed his hope to continue trilateral cooperation and enhance the participation of the Egyptian private sector in projects funded by BADEA in Africa.

The meeting also discussed cooperation opportunities in transport and logistics, linking African markets, supporting joint projects, transferring Egyptian expertise, and capacity building, all of which would strengthen Egypt’s role as a hub for Arab-African cooperation and support development and economic integration efforts on the continent. The statement highlighted the “pivotal” role of the “Mawred” platform in disseminating tenders, business opportunities, and related channels.

Following the meeting, both sides toured the exhibition accompanying the forum, which was dedicated to startups and entrepreneurs, where they reviewed examples of projects and innovations reflecting the growing potential of African youth. (End) A.S.M. / M.A.A.
