Brussels, February 2 (KUNA) -- Belgium called today for an "immediate" de-escalation in northern Ethiopia, expressing deep concern over the rapid deterioration of the situation in the region. Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevost, via his official account on the social media platform X, stated that he is deeply concerned about the rapid worsening of the situation in northern Ethiopia and urgently called for an immediate de-escalation. The Belgian minister stressed the necessity of respecting territorial integrity, sovereignty, and international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians at all times, and the respect for the neutrality and independence of humanitarian operations, emphasizing that these principles are "non-negotiable."
