Qatar Strongly Condemns Houthi Group's Targeting of Electricity Distribution Station Serving the Noble Prophet's Mosque
Doha, 1 October (KUNA) — Qatar strongly condemned the Houthi group’s targeting of an electricity distribution station in Medina, Saudi Arabia, which serves the Noble Prophet’s Mosque and civilian facilities, describing the attack as a serious violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, a clear provocation of Muslim sentiments, a reckless disregard for civilian lives, a blatant breach of Saudi sovereignty, and a flagrant violation of international law.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its unequivocal rejection of attacks on holy sites, civilian infrastructure, and civilians, and called for an immediate halt to such irresponsible acts. The ministry also reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with its brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its unwavering support for all lawful measures Riyadh takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests. It emphasized that Saudi security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and of the collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. (End) S S S / M M J
