Riyadh, October 1 (KUNA) -- The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Thursday that a terrorist attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, September 29, targeting the Taybah electricity distribution station in Medina.
In a press statement, the Coalition’s official spokesperson, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, said the attack took place at 05:11 on Tuesday, September 29. He noted that investigations and evidence gathered by the competent authorities confirmed the involvement of the Houthi terrorist militia in planning and executing this cowardly terrorist act, based on operational reviews and remnants of the drone used.
Al-Maliki clarified that the attack caused one transformer to go out of service, without affecting the electrical grid. He emphasized that targeting a civilian facility providing electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque is a continuation of the extremist militia’s attempts to target the Two Holy Mosques and provoke the feelings of millions of Muslims worldwide by striking Mecca and Medina.
He affirmed that the Coalition will continue to take and implement measures aimed at deterring the Houthi terrorist militia, ensuring the protection of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of the pilgrims in Mecca and Medina. (End)
