Kuwait City, 1 Oct (KUNA) -- Education Minister Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaee today launched the “Smart School” (Albus) project in collaboration with Google for Education at Jumanah bint Abi Talib Girls’ Secondary School, one of the institutions implementing the tracks system. The launch was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Engineer Hamad Al-Hamad and several senior ministry officials.

Speaking at the project launch ceremony alongside the Google team, Minister Al-Tabtabaee said the ministry is steadily advancing its comprehensive reform and development agenda for the education system, working to achieve its desired goals and aspirations in line with the high directives of the political leadership, and amid the continuous support and attention afforded to the education sector to enhance its quality.

He emphasized that cooperation and integration among the stakeholders of the education system constitute the cornerstone for elevating education in the State of Kuwait to its highest standards. He expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect him), to His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (may God protect him), and to His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, for their continuous support and attention to the education sector.

He noted that the Ministry of Education is continuing its steady progress in development and in building an educational model that keeps pace with the future and meets the aspirations of Kuwait and its people. He explained that the project is part of the ministry’s efforts to support innovation and accelerate the digital transformation process, enabling the school environment to leverage modern technologies to serve the educational process.

He pointed out that education development is not tied to a single project or isolated technological tool, but rather relies on an integrated system that combines modern curricula, educational tracks, teacher qualification, school environment development, and technology, thereby placing the learner at the heart of the educational process and equipping them with the tools and skills needed to keep pace with future demands.

He clarified that the project represents a comprehensive model that integrates the “tracks system,” one of the initiatives for developing secondary education, with the “Smart School” project, which provides a supportive digital learning environment for this development. This integration enables students to experience a more flexible and interactive education, expands opportunities for research, exploration, and self-directed learning, and contributes to the development of digital and future-ready skills.
