Kuwait City, 1 October (KUNA) – Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Kifaya Al-Najdi, and Al-Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi, inaugurated the first phase of the development project for Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Street (formerly known as Al-Abdali Street).
In a press statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Public Works said the road is a vital artery linking Al-Jahra Governorate with the northern regions, facilitating travel to the Al-Abdali area, farms, and border crossings. It also plays a key role in overland travel and freight transport, giving its development significant service and economic importance.
The ministry noted that the development works aim to enhance the road’s efficiency, improve traffic flow, and strengthen safety for users, while also facilitating access to the areas it serves, keeping pace with urban expansion, and accommodating the growing volume of vehicles.
It added that the inauguration of the first phase of the project is the result of coordinated efforts by the Ministry of Public Works and relevant authorities, under the close follow-up of the Al-Jahra Governorate Council, as part of joint coordination to advance road and infrastructure projects and improve the level of services provided to residents and road users.
