Kuwait City, 1 October (KUNA) -- The KUNA Media Capacity Development Center concluded on Thursday its training program on “Podcasting, Voiceover, and Dubbing Skills,” with participation from staff members of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) and the Direct Investment Promotion Authority.
The program, which launched last Sunday and was delivered by media expert Dr. Bassam Al-Jazzaf, aimed to enhance participants’ skills in podcasting, voiceover, and dubbing, while introducing them to the scientific and artistic foundations of sound and professional techniques for leveraging audio in media and content production.
The curriculum covered a range of theoretical and practical topics, including the basics, theories, and sources of sound, as well as diagnosing and addressing vocal issues. It also included hands-on exercises in breathing techniques, vocal warm-ups, measuring maximum speaking duration, and refining tone, pauses, speed, and rhythm, thereby strengthening trainees’ ability to control their voice and performance.
Additionally, the program addressed the stages of podcast preparation and production, from concept development, identity building, and scripting to recording, editing, publishing, and archiving. It also covered audience analysis, building auditory identity, music design, institutional tone guidelines, and the audio formats used in media work.
Speaking to KUNA, Dr. Al-Jazzaf said that the rapid evolution of the audio content and podcasting industry requires media professionals to possess specialized skills in handling voice, performance, recording, and content production, in line with the nature of modern platforms and audience needs.
He clarified that the practical training components focused on enabling participants to directly apply their acquired skills, ranging from voice and breathing control and delivery to preparing, recording, and producing audio content at a professional standard.
Al-Jazzaf emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the skills of media professionals to keep pace with the transformations in the media sector, enhancing their ability to produce impactful audio content that maintains the quality and clarity of the media message.
