Gaza – 30 September (KUNA) – The health authorities in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the number of Palestinian martyrs had risen to eight since early morning, following a series of airstrikes and attacks carried out by Israeli occupation aircraft on various areas of the Gaza Strip. Several others were injured, including some in critical condition.
In a press statement, the health authorities said that five Palestinians were martyred and others were injured, including some in serious condition, after an Israeli drone targeted a passenger transport vehicle in the Tel al-Hawa area west of Gaza City. The martyrs were transported for burial, while the injured were taken to Al-Shifa and Al-Quds Hospitals, affiliated with the Red Crescent, to receive treatment.
The authorities added that emergency departments received a female Palestinian martyr and several injured people after Israeli occupation aircraft bombed a residential apartment in the Al-Nasr neighborhood west of Gaza City.
They noted that Palestinian journalist Mohammed Al-Najar was martyred after being targeted by an Israeli drone in the Mawasi Al-Qarara area northwest of Khan Younis, where his body was brought to Nasser Medical Complex. Others were also injured in the attack, with some described as being in critical condition.
Emergency departments also reported the martyrdom of a Palestinian and the injury of a child after an Israeli drone targeted a group of Palestinians on Salah al-Din Street in the Al-Qarara area east of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Ambulance crews transported four injured individuals to Nasser Medical Complex, including one in critical condition and two children, after an Israeli drone targeted a tent housing displaced persons near western Khan Younis.
In Gaza City, a fisherman from the Shati’ refugee camp in the western part of the city was admitted to Al-Shifa Medical Complex after being injured by shrapnel from a bomb dropped by a “Quad Copter” drone.
Israeli occupation aircraft continued to target various areas of the Gaza Strip, coinciding with the ongoing arrival of martyrs and the wounded at hospitals, amid difficult health conditions and sustained pressure on medical staff. (End) A.P.
