Kuwait City, 30 September (KUNA) – Al-Jahra Hospital launched Kuwait’s first specialized training initiative under its program for caring for children with complex medical conditions, aiming to equip parents and caregivers with the practical skills needed to safely care for their children at home and to facilitate a smoother transition from hospital to home. In a press release, the Ministry of Health stated that the training covers the use of medical devices and equipment, as well as emergency response procedures, and includes the provision of specialized emergency kits for tracheostomy and feeding tubes for families. The ministry added that the Complex Pediatric Care Unit, headed by Dr. Ahmed Jafar, is implementing the initiative through a structured training program that includes training modules, competency assessments for each skill, and supplementary educational materials and videos. The initiative is part of the program’s efforts to strengthen the role of the family as a key partner in the care of children with complex medical conditions and to support the child’s transition home in a manner that addresses their health needs.
