Gaza, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Red Crescent announced on Wednesday that five Palestinians were killed and 13 others injured in an Israeli occupation airstrike on a small bus towing a passenger cart west of Gaza City, with several of the wounded described as being in critical condition.

In a press statement, the Red Crescent said the airstrike targeted the bus in the Ministry of Councils area in the Al-Hawa neighborhood west of the city, noting that the martyrs were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital and the wounded to Al-Quds Hospital, affiliated with the association.

Eyewitnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the airstrike directly hit the bus and the cart it was towing, destroying the cart and causing casualties. Medical teams and civil defense continued search and rescue operations at the site.

They added that ambulances and medical crews rushed to the scene immediately after the strike, transporting several martyrs and the injured to the Al-Shifa Medical Complex for treatment, while efforts continued to manage the aftermath of the attack, recover the wounded, and transfer them to hospitals.

This was the second strike since dawn on Wednesday as part of a continuous series of Israeli occupation airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. The first strike earlier targeted a residential apartment on Al-Wahda Street in Gaza City, killing a Palestinian woman and injuring another in critical condition, bringing the day’s total death toll to six.
