Bahrain's Housing Minister Praises GCC Role in Supporting Joint Gulf Housing Efforts
Manama, September 30 (KUNA) – Bahrain’s Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amina Al-Rumaihi, today Wednesday, praised the role played by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in supporting the progress of joint Gulf housing efforts. According to the Bahrain News Agency, this commendation came during Minister Al-Rumaihi’s reception of GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi, who is participating in the 24th meeting of the Ministers’ Committee for Housing Affairs in GCC member states, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Al-Rumaihi also commended the Secretariat’s role in strengthening coordination and cooperation frameworks among member states, facilitating the exchange of expertise and experiences, and developing joint initiatives and programs in the housing sector. The 24th meeting of the Ministers’ Committee for Housing Affairs in GCC member states is scheduled to discuss a number of topics and files of common interest, as part of continued efforts by GCC states to develop cooperation in housing fields, benefit from successful experiences and practices in member states, and enhance integration in programs and initiatives related to social housing.
The Secretary-General’s participation coincides with Bahrain’s hosting of the Fourth Gulf Housing Week, which serves as a platform for exchanging expertise and experiences and showcasing modern initiatives and solutions in the housing sector, attended by ministers, senior officials, experts, and specialists from GCC member states.
The accompanying events also include the second edition of the 2026 Conference and Exhibition on Innovation in the Social Housing Sector, which highlights the latest trends and innovative solutions in social housing, the role of strategic partnerships, and the banking and real estate sectors in supporting the development of housing solutions, alongside enhancing the exchange of expertise and experiences among GCC member states.
