Bahrain Confirms Continuation of Enhancing Joint GCC Housing Efforts and Pushing for Advanced Integration Levels
Manama, September 29 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of continuing to strengthen joint Gulf cooperation channels in the housing sector and advancing them toward higher levels of integration, in order to realize the visions of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and contribute to building sustainable housing communities in the region.
Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported that this came during a meeting between the Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister and senior housing officials from GCC countries participating in the 2026 Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition.
He noted that continuous efforts to harmonize housing policies among GCC member states would open broad horizons for pioneering architectural models that keep pace with developmental needs and directly enhance the stability and well-being of Gulf families by accelerating the provision of services.
He pointed out that Bahrain’s hosting of the Fourth Gulf Housing Week, coinciding with the second edition of the Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition, represents an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences and expertise among GCC countries, as well as to learn about the latest practices in housing, financing, and real estate development, thereby supporting the trajectory of joint Gulf housing efforts.
He added that hosting the event underscores the mutual commitment to supporting distinctive joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the social housing sector and developing innovative housing and architectural solutions that anticipate the future and enrich the construction and development process to achieve further gains and accomplishments.
The agency noted that senior Gulf housing officials expressed their profound gratitude to Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his patronage of the Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition, and for the successful arrangements and excellent organization provided by the Kingdom of Bahrain for this prominent gathering.
They also extended their sincere appreciation to the Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister for honoring the event with his attendance and for the warm reception they received, emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination to translate shared Gulf visions into concrete, tangible steps to achieve the desired integration in the housing sector.
