Jeddah, September 29 (KUNA) -- The 15th session of the Statistical Commission of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held today, Tuesday, in the Saudi city of Jeddah, with the participation of Kuwait’s Central Statistical Authority (CSA), to discuss and exchange technical expertise among the national statistical offices of OIC member countries.

In a statement, the CSA said its participation in the session, represented by Rana Al-Saqqaf, Head of the Input-Output Tables Department at the CSA, comes within the framework of enhancing statistical cooperation and exchanging expertise among OIC member states.

The session, which concludes its work tomorrow, Wednesday, discusses a number of topics related to the development of statistical work in member countries, including the implementation of the Commission’s work programme for the period 2026–2030, the Sustainable Development Goals, updating population and housing statistics, applying the System of National Accounts 2025, and strengthening partnerships within statistical systems.

The Kuwaiti CSA had previously participated in a series of Arab and regional statistical meetings hosted in Jeddah. It took part on Sunday in the 51st meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute for Statistical Training and Research, and on Monday in the 44th meeting of the Permanent Technical Committee for Statistics of the League of Arab States.
