Kuwait City, 29 September (KUNA) — The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, announced that the Barq Racing and Mouj Racing teams will participate in the finals of the Formula 1-supported STEM Racing World Championship, to be held in Singapore next October.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the center stated that the two teams qualified after successfully competing in the local championship finals held in Kuwait last July. It noted that the teams underwent an experience combining training and practical application, with students responsible for preparing the teams and projects, designing and manufacturing miniature race cars, developing marketing strategies, managing resources, and presenting their projects to the judging panels.
The center clarified that the Barq Racing team comprises Abdulrahman Al-Rafai, Khaled Al-Khalidi, Ali Al-Musabah, Ahmed Al-Basman, and Abdulwahab Al-Mutairi, while the Mouj Racing team includes Hussein Safar, Abdulwahab Al-Sallal, Sheikha Al-Duaiji, Nasser Al-Qatami, Saud Al-Khalidi, and Fawaz Al-Dahi.
It added that the two teams are preparing to compete against a select group of student teams from various countries in an experience that allows them to test their projects and skills on an international level. The qualifying local championship enabled them to work within specialized teams that assumed multiple responsibilities, including engineering, administrative, and media-related roles.
The center emphasized that the teams’ advancement to the world finals reflects their commitment to providing practical spaces for youth to test their capabilities and broaden their horizons in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It wished the teams success and an honorable representation of Kuwait at this global forum. (End) S.S. / N.W.F
