Doha, September 29 (KUNA) -- Qatar called on the international community today, Tuesday, to compel the Israeli occupation government to halt its expansionist plans, while expressing its full rejection of Israeli statements regarding the annexation of areas in southern Lebanon and regions extending to the “Blue Line” in the Gaza Strip, which it deemed a blatant challenge to international law and resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to assume its responsibilities and to compel the Israeli occupation government to cease its expansionist policies and settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast position supporting the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the fraternal Palestinian people, based on ending the occupation and enabling them to attain their legitimate rights, foremost among which is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
