French president condemns Russian attack on Ukraine's National Academy of Sciences

Paris, September 28 (KUNA) – French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday condemned the recent Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s National Academy of Sciences. In a post on his X platform, Macron said, “Vladimir Putin’s regime attacked the largest research institution in the scientific fields in Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences.” He described the Russian attack as “further evidence of the Russian regime’s aggressive contempt for science and truth,” and characterized the Russian strikes against Ukrainian civilians as “barbaric,” adding that France stands with the victims and their families in their suffering. Macron emphasized that France would stand alongside the Ukrainian people, together with other European countries, for as long as necessary. Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the recent Russian attacks had targeted the National Academy of Sciences, a pharmaceutical company, and fuel stations in the capital, Kyiv.
