Kuwait City, September 28 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Stock Exchange announced today, Monday, the launch of the third edition of the "Bell" initiative for financial literacy, featuring an awareness program running throughout October and bringing together six professional, academic, and investment entities.

In a press release, the exchange stated that the initiative aims to bring investment concepts closer to the public and help individuals understand their financial options and associated risks through interactive sessions, workshops, and digital content that links knowledge to practical life needs and developments in the Kuwaiti capital market.

It clarified that the new edition underscores the Kuwait Stock Exchange’s commitment to ensuring that as the market develops and investment options expand, there is a continuous effort to raise public awareness. With the diversification of products and easier access to information, the need for reliable content that clearly explains concepts has become evident, helping investors ask the right questions and understand what aligns with their goals and capabilities, free from complexity or the influence of incomplete information.

The initiative is organized in collaboration with the CFA Institute, the CFA Society Kuwait, Gulf Capital for Investment, Kuwait University, Kuwait Credit Information Network (KUCIN), and the Investment Companies Union. This diversity allows for the combination of investment expertise, university education, and corporate experiences to deliver a program that addresses investors, students, and young professionals entering the workforce, providing each group with knowledge tailored to their specific needs.

The exchange noted that the program coincides with the tenth edition of Global Investor Week, led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to enhance investor awareness and protection, and supported by the World Federation of Exchanges through its "Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy" campaign.

Nasser Al-Sanousi, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Kuwait Stock Exchange, emphasized that knowledge is the foundation of informed investing and that the market’s value is fully realized when people understand the options it offers and how to navigate them. He added that the "Bell" initiative brings this knowledge to the public in clear language and through reliable content, helping individuals understand opportunities and risks before making decisions. This represents a sustained commitment translated into practical programs and partnerships that combine expertise with the ability to reach the community.

He pointed out that the third edition will more closely link awareness with market developments and the questions that matter most to investors, particularly young people. He explained that investors need to understand their options, students need to connect their studies to reality, and entrepreneurs need to identify the requirements for growing their businesses.

"We will work with our partners to provide content that serves these needs, encourages learning, and fosters questioning. Our ambition is for financial knowledge to become part of people’s thinking and decision-making processes, and for the impact of the initiative to remain present even after its activities conclude."

Since its launch in 2024, the "Bell" initiative has formed partnerships with more than ten entities and reached over 2,000 beneficiaries. Its presence has also extended through the "Bell" podcast, which has garnered over two million views across four seasons, thereby broadening the reach of financial and investment content to an audience exceeding that of live event participants and enabling the utilization of discussions and expertise at different times and places.
