Kuwaiti Ambassador: Kuwait Eager to Enhance Tourist Cooperation with El Salvador
Kuwait City, September 28 (KUNA) – Kuwait’s Ambassador to Mexico, also accredited to the Republic of El Salvador, Salah Al-Haddad, reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening its relations with El Salvador across various fields, particularly tourism. He highlighted the notable growth in El Salvador’s tourism sector, attributing it to the country’s efforts in this area.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, on the occasion of his participation in the celebration of World Tourism Day, organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in El Salvador on Sunday in collaboration with the Salvadoran Ministry of Tourism under the theme “The Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” Ambassador Al-Haddad noted that he met with Salvadoran Tourism Minister Morina Valdez Fiallos. They discussed ways to enhance tourism cooperation and exchange expertise between the two countries. She emphasized her country’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Kuwait in the tourism sector, sharing experiences and practices to contribute to the development of this industry.
Ambassador Al-Haddad also met with UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili, where he affirmed Kuwait’s support for the organization’s work and its role in developing the tourism sector, which is one of the key pillars of Kuwait’s “Kuwait 2035” vision. He outlined Kuwait’s most prominent efforts in the tourism field, including the launch of the digital platform “Visit Kuwait” to promote tourism, as well as Kuwait’s hosting last February of the 52nd meeting of the UNWTO Regional Committee for the Middle East and the conference on enhancing tourism through artificial intelligence.
He expressed Kuwait’s appreciation for the initiatives, activities, and partnerships undertaken by the UNWTO Secretary-General with various countries to develop tourism globally, and her focus on leveraging artificial intelligence to achieve a qualitative leap in this sector.
Ambassador Al-Haddad noted that the UNWTO Secretary-General praised Kuwait’s support for the organization’s efforts to develop tourism, specifically commending the efforts of the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and the Acting Minister of Media and Culture, Omar Al-Omar.
He added that the UNWTO Secretary-General appreciated Kuwait’s participation in the organization’s meetings and events, and reaffirmed the organization’s readiness to cooperate with Kuwait in the tourism sector and enhance partnership in this field. (End) N.M.A.
