1980 – Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues Law No. 65 on general mobilization by decree in cases of strained international relations, the threat of war, or the outbreak of war. The decree is also revoked by decree when the circumstances necessitating its declaration cease to exist.

1988 – Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah delivers a historic speech at the podium of the United Nations General Assembly, in his capacity as President of the Fifth Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, outlining the problems and obstacles facing developing countries.

1990 – Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah meets for the first time since the brutal Iraqi invasion with U.S. President George H.W. Bush at the White House.

1992 – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry reopens the Kuwait Stock Exchange after a two-year suspension caused by the Iraqi invasion in August 1990.

2009 – A Kuwaiti female parliamentary delegation participates for the first time in the proceedings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union conference held in Geneva.

2012 – The United Nations Human Rights Council adopts a resolution on Syria, submitted by Kuwait and a group of Arab countries, calling for the extension of the mandate of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry established by the Human Rights Council.

2016 – The Ministry of Health begins implementing the draft law on health insurance for retirees, covering more than 117,000 beneficiaries with coverage amounts reaching approximately 17,000 Kuwaiti dinars per insured individual.

2017 – Kuwaiti candidate Dr. Saud Al-Harbi wins the position of Director-General of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO).

2020 – The Cabinet decides to reaffirm the requirement for passengers arriving in Kuwait to obtain a (PCR) test certificate from laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Health as a precautionary measure to combat the novel coronavirus.

2021 – Dasman Diabetes Institute wins the 2021 United Nations Award, granted for the best achievements in 2020 regarding the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.

2022 – Kuwait Petroleum International announces the signing of an agreement with European airline EasyJet to supply it with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to reduce carbon emissions.
