Gaza, September 27 (KUNA) -- Palestinian health authorities announced on Sunday that a Palestinian was martyred and another was seriously injured in an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft strike on a group of Palestinian civilians in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip. This comes as Israeli occupation forces continued their artillery bombardment and firing from vehicles, aircraft, and warships at various areas in the northern, central, and southern parts of the Strip.

Health authorities added in a press statement that two Palestinians were injured when an Israeli occupation unmanned aerial vehicle targeted tents belonging to displaced persons in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northern Gaza City. Other injuries were also recorded following an aerial strike near the White Mosque in the Shati refugee camp in the western part of the city.

In the southern Strip, Palestinians mourned an eight-year-old Palestinian boy at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis. The child was martyred by Israeli occupation gunfire in the Mawasi area of Rafah city on Saturday evening. The same area came under artillery bombardment and gunfire from Israeli vehicles, coinciding with helicopter gunship fire in the southern part of Mawasi.

Eyewitnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Israeli occupation shelling and gunfire extended to other areas of the Strip, with intense firing from vehicles, tanks, and warships reported in western Beit Lahiya and northwestern Gaza City. Areas in eastern and southern Khan Younis also came under shelling and gunfire from vehicles and helicopter gunships, while tanks stationed east of the city shelled areas inside it with heavy artillery fire.

With Israeli military operations continuing and health needs increasing, the Kuwaiti Specialized Field Hospital announced today the resumption of work in its surgical department according to medical priorities, despite the scarcity of medicines and medical supplies, amid the pressures facing health facilities in the Strip.

Regarding the entry of aid into the Strip, local crossing authorities reported that 80 trucks carrying aid entered yesterday, including 57 trucks of food and provisions, five trucks of shelter and relief supplies, and 18 trucks of consumer goods and household items. Meanwhile, the "Zikim" and "Kisufim" crossings remained closed.

This comes amid continued restrictions on the movement of crossings leading to the Gaza Strip and their repercussions on the flow of essential materials and supplies needed by Palestinians and vital facilities, including fuel, gas, and daily necessities. (End) w.a.b / s.m.a
