Egyptian Red Crescent sends 2,794 tons of diverse humanitarian aid to Gaza

Cairo, Sept 27 (KUNA) -- The Egyptian Red Crescent announced on Sunday that it has dispatched more than 2,794 tons of diverse humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip as part of the “Zaad al-Azza: From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, in line with its role as a national mechanism for coordinating and delivering humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the Strip.

In a statement, the Egyptian Red Crescent said that truck number 284 of the “Zaad al-Azza: From Egypt to Gaza” convoy departed in the early morning hours of today bound for Gaza, carrying more than 1,314 tons of food supplies, 387 tons of relief materials, and approximately 1,035 tons of petroleum products necessary to operate hospitals and vital facilities in the Strip.

It affirmed that its personnel have been stationed at the border with the Gaza Strip since the onset of the crisis, with its logistical centers remaining on high alert and its efforts intensified to prepare and deliver humanitarian and relief aid to the Strip.
