First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior checks on victims injured in a dog attack

Kuwait City, September 26 (KUNA) — The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, checked on the health of individuals who were attacked by dogs. The Ministry of Interior said in a press statement that Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef visited an employee of the Public Authority for Agricultural Resources and Fisheries at Al-Farwaniya Hospital after he was attacked by several stray dogs while carrying out his duties at the authority’s premises, resulting in various injuries. The statement added that he inquired about the employee’s health condition, listened to an update on his medical status, and wished him a speedy and full recovery. The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior also checked on the health of a Kuwaiti national who was attacked by a dog while entering her residence, sustaining various injuries and being transported to Al-Amiri Hospital for treatment. The statement noted that the relevant security authorities responded to the incident site, where it was determined that the dog belonged to an individual. A case was filed for “negligence in guarding an animal and causing injury by mistake,” and necessary legal procedures are underway. The ministry called on everyone to exercise caution and to contact the emergency number (112) to report any situations that pose a threat to public safety or gatherings of stray dogs, providing precise location details, so that the competent authorities can take the necessary measures to help protect lives and enhance public safety.
