Arab League Secretary-General calls on Iran to respect the security and sovereignty of Arab states

Cairo, Sept 26 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy called on Iran on Saturday to respect the security, sovereignty, and good-neighborly relations of Arab states, to de-escalate tensions, and to prioritize political and diplomatic solutions, emphasizing the importance of restoring security and stability in the region. This came during Fahmy’s meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to a statement issued by the Arab League. The statement clarified that the meeting addressed the repercussions of the current crisis on Arab states and ways to resolve it, as well as regional developments and efforts aimed at containing escalation and enhancing dialogue to serve the security and stability of the region.
